Obedience is Hard!?!

Wow. The life of a Christian is indeed something you know. My last post has so inspired me I cannot but make reference to it. I remember when I felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to blog about that, and even go ahead to ask people to send me their questions or worries, as well as if they need help in getting their relationship with God on track; it crossed my mind that people would be like ‘who does she think she is?’ etc and although I wasn’t really discouraged because I knew the accuracy of my heart and the One who sent me, I did hold back for a bit but I knew it was something God wanted me to do. Anyway God wanted something done and as His partner I obeyed and went for it. I put my feelings and personal reservations aside to let God be God and obey because it’s not about me.

Another thing is this, when God calls you to do something He may not be directly going after a multitude of people but that one soul. Whatever the case the number of people is not necessarily what our focus should be on, what we should be concerned with is obedience to the voice of God and fulfilling His purpose.

Well, a handful of people sent messages, mostly those I don’t know but one of them is someone I know and I can definitely say I wasn’t expecting any friend or someone I know to send a message because you know that scripture “Matthew 13:57 And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honoured everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.

LOL yeah that… But to my greatest surprise she sent an email and even admitted to the fact that something had been nudging her to talk to me but she was reluctant but then when she read my post it was just another confirmation that she should talk to me about a challenge. She did and honestly I cannot tell you the joy in my heart knowing that she’s walking in obedience and has been able to make some life changing decisions just by taking heed to the leading of the spirit and obey the voice of God.

This encouraged me as well, it just further confirmed the importance of giving yourself to God and letting Him use you, to fulfil purpose. God does not need your strength, He’s Almighty, He does not need our knowledge He is Omniscient. So remove the focus from your inadequacies and put yourself in an accurate position to be used by God through obedience and He will through that process transform you also. That is indeed my testimony.

I know I have written on obedience before but it cannot be over emphasised. It is how God knows we truly love Him. It is how God knows He can trust us. Obedience is a major act of faith. And we know that without faith it is impossible to please God. That is a categorical statement. Not the ‘its not my portion’ kind of faith. I speak of the kind of faith that is an active expression of trust in God through our obedience to His word and our ability to look away from our inadequacies, present earthly circumstances and ourselves and put our focus on God to bring to life His intentions. Faith in God isn’t a vague concept, neither is it to fuel our selfish ambitions. Faith isn’t inactive or dormant. It should be the response of every believer at every given moment of time. Obedience to God is an act of faith. It is not optional for the life of a Christian. You PLAN to obey! Study the life of Abraham!

The primary reason why people disobey God is the lack of sight (Accessing the mind of God and seeing ahead into the things of God). That’s what the devil does, brings darkness to your life by introducing blindness to the word of God, which causes lack of understanding, which at the end of the day produces fear (Adam and Eve). People disobey because they don’t see what God is going after, and the devils strategy is to blind you from what God is going after.

Another reason people struggle is because they think it is by their might. God requires us to DEPEND on Him for the strength. That is the beauty of Grace; that we can access things beyond this earthly realm that we wouldn’t ordinarily be able to access if not for Christ. So this is it people, obedience is profitable and also remember that destinies and souls are tied to your obedience to Gods word. E.g. Adam….and our savior Jesus.

2 Corinthians 10:5

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”

Verse 8:

I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But our authority builds you up; it doesn’t tear you down. So I will not be ashamed of using my authority”.

So, again I say just like my previous post my prayer today is that we all come to the unity of the faith and knowledge in the Son of God. And if anyone needs help in getting to this place, getting to a point where you don’t want to look back rather you desire to press on towards God, I’m here to help. I do promise to guide you with the help of the Holy Spirit, pray with you and for you. I’ll leave my info below and you can send me an email stating your concerns, questions, or even prayer requests, I’ll definitely respond. Even you that you feel your relationship with God is not where you want it to be but you want that to change. God sees the heart and His arms are always open wide. His word says draw near to me and I will draw near to you. If you need help I’m here also. Even if you aren’t a ‘Christian’, you can still reach out. I’m here to help, not because I know it all but because that’s why we are here as Christians, to help one another grow into the image of God.
